The new development of Chinese high speed railway is just beginning. For adapting to the new request of the development of railway transportation, the studying on new rail structure is imperative. The corrugated waist rail is one significant way to improve the economic properties of rail, and it has great significance of economy and academic when the study results of the whole corrugated web H-beam is applied to rails to develop a new rail structure, and making study of the mechanic properties on it. Nowadays, the study on the field is still stay on the stage of whole corrugated web H-beam. The corrugated waist heavy rail is not appearance in the world, and is originated in the study on the field.This paper chiefly makes finite element numerical calculation on the mechanic properties of corrugated waist rail, such as intensity, stiffness and stability. Then the analysis and comparison on the relevant intensity data of two different rail waist structures have been presented, which reveals the advantage of the corrugated waist rail. Firstly, the analysis and comparison on the mechanic properties such as stress field and stiffness of the resistant to side bending of the corrugated waist rail have been presented, and then explain the influence on the static mechanic properties for the wave of the rail waist and the influence on the traits of stresses and displacements distribution for the different loading condition. Secondly, the finite element numerical calculation on the mechanic properties of corrugated waist rail and normal rail under real boundary has been presented.At last, the analysis of elastic stress field and Mises yield field on the rail waist have been done, which reveals the trait of subjecting to force and the distribution of each mechanic properties of corrugated waist rail under different loading condition. All this may provide a significant reference for further researching and engineering application.
