| Vibration and impact are the main causes of the damage to products duringthe shipping and handling. Drop is the most direct factor resulting in packagedamage among various kinds of impact cases. Drop impact is a great harm to thepackage. Corrugated box is one of the indispensable packaging containers inmodern life. So the thesis discusses the drop impact response of the corrugatedbox.Based on the velocity-time function and acceleration-time function of dropimpact, the thesis achieves the relationship among drop height, inherentfrequency and impact acceleration according to the function.The thesis uses Pro/Engineer to make three-dimensional simulationmodeling of B, C and BC flute corrugated fiberboards. Meanwhile, thesecorrugated fiberboards assemble into corresponding models of corrugated box.And the finite element modal analysis of corrugated boxes with the samematerial are put forward by Pro/MECHANICA. Natural frequency and vibrationmode of three kinds of corrugated box are achieved through the modal analysis.The analysis results show, the inherent frequency of corrugated boxes from lowto high followed by, B flute single-wall corrugated box, C flute single-wallcorrugated box, and BC flute corrugated box. Based on the drop impact theory,the lower the inherent frequency, the greater the maximum deformation ofcorrugated boxes when the drop height is constant. Therefore, it can infer thatwhen three kinds of corrugated box suffer drop impact in the same condition, Bflute corrugated box has the maximum deformation, followed by C flutecorrugated box and BC flute corrugated box.Drop simulation experiment on corrugated boxes is carried out viaANSYS/LS-DYNA. First of all, at the same height, three kinds of drop gestureincluding faces drop, edges drop and angle drop are applied to C flute corrugatedbox. Through the comparative study about equivalent stress nephogramacceleration-time curves and velocity-time curves, the thesis draws a conclusion that the greatest impact on corrugated box is the angle drop. The second, threekinds of corrugated boxes are carried out faces drop simulation experiment at thesame height. And the acceleration-time curves and velocity-time curves of thedrop impact are achieved. Comparing the results of the analysis, the conclusionis as follows: the deformation of BC flute corrugated box is the least whensuffering drop impact at the same condition. BC flute corrugated box shows thebest cushioning property among the three.The thesis not only achieves the deformation of the corrugated boxessuffering drop impact from modal analysis, but also clearly shows the dropresponse through the drop simulation experiment. Meanwhile, the relatedparameters about acceleration and velocity are achieved when the corrugated boxsuffers drop impact. It puts forward reliable reference data for further study. |
