The PDM Based Distributed Product Collaborative Development Technology And Implementation Methodology Research

In order to respond to the fast changes of the global market, and to develop the required product with high quality in a short time, enterprises are now focusing on collaborative product development within themselves. Technologies, which support the collaborative working, have been acknowledged by both academies and industries. The methodology and technology that deal with the product data in those collaborating units is the key point in the product collaborative development lifecycle.PDM, (Product Data Management) is the technology which manages the related information and process of the product development. As the product development engineering information system and integration environment, PDM have had many positive effects in the past implementations and applications. This thesis researches on how the distributed PDM systems could be used to solve the problems concerned with the product data integration with the enterprises. The following aspects are involved in the thesis:1．The architectures of distributed PDM system .The types of PDM system architectures mapping to those types of development are analyzed. It is mainly discussed how the central-database based architecture can manage the distributed data.2．The modeling methodologies to implement distributed PDMs. This thesis studies models which required in the product collaborative development, including product data model, organization model, and workflow model. The modeling methodologies of these models are also discussed.3．The information integration technology in distribute PDMs. This thesis analyses the essence of information, and explains the logic and method of transition of product structure views, which is the key point of PDM-PDM and PDM-ERP integration.This thesis is based on the research of "Electrocircuit Design & Manufacturing Integration System -Research on Integrated Product DataManagement System in Distributed Environment" project. At the end of the thesis, an implementation and application instance of distributed EDMI-PDM is presented.
