In this paper, the strength theory is adopted to analyze the stress of the pressure component of boiler, and the calculation method of metal fatigue and creep is adopted to estimate the life loss of the boiler. Meanwhile, the short-cut calculation method is put forward which can meet the requirement of on-line monitoring. On the basis of above, the on-line monitoring and management system of boiler life is developed. The main reason of the life loss of steam drum, which is located outside the boiler, is the low cycle fatigue. The stress analysis and the fatigue life loss calculation of steam drum are carried out in this article. A simplification formula is proponed to calculate the main stress and is used in configuration of DCS. The rain-flow method is used to count the fatigue cycle, which can satisfy the need of on-line monitoring. The pressure component inside the boiler, represented by superheater, whose main reason of life loss is long- term creep. The Larson-Miller method and the superheater wall temperature computation model brought forward by Soviet criterion are adopted to calculate the life loss caused by creep. And a simplification formula is put forward to apply in the on-line life inspection system. Both configuration of DCS and program of MIS are used to develop the boiler life on-line monitoring and management system, which can sufficient use the existing hardware and software source of the power plant. In DCS, configuration is used to accomplish the on-line calculation of main stress of the orifice of the drum's central downcomer. In MIS, the client/server structure based on the database is adopted. The program in server pretreats the data from DCS and sends them to the database, while the programs in client accomplished the final treatment and displays the result...
