In this paper, the focus is placed on the double long road tunnels. When one of the two tunnels is on fire, the transverse alleyways which connecting the two tunnels should be opened for rescue and putting out fire. The airflow in the transverse alleyways and the change of temperature field, pressure field and smoke distribution in the tunnels is studied. On the basis of this, some suggestions are put forward for ventilation organization in the condition.Firstly, the paper introduces the tunnel fire about its characteristics, causes, damages and the statue quo of ventilation when tunnel is on fire. Then, making use of theoretic analysis and fire experiment, the paper analyzes the direction and the speed of airflow in the transverse alleyways and discusses its infection on prevention and rescue of tunnel fire. The airflow draws the two unattached ventilation systems in the two tunnels respectively into a new system, the change of temperature, pressure and smoke in the fire tunnel is studied, the influence on the ventilation of the non-fire tunnel is also discussed in this paper.By way of analyzing, the paper summarizes the factors affect the transverse alleyways airflow, indicates the disadvantages for evacuating people if the speed of the airflow is too high. The paper gains a relation between the temperature changing and the speed of tunnel airflow, offers the law of tunnel airflow's changing because of the cross drift airflow. In the paper, the qualification of the fire temperature and smoke not to pollute the non-fire tunnel is brought forward, the engineering measures to avoid the pollution are also suggested. The advices to organize ventilation when tunnels are on fire are given in the end.
