This paper which is based on these facts that in Qinhuangdao the surface layer of cement concrete pavements have been loosed and destroyed because of snowfall and splashing salt in winter analyzed the causes deeply. The causes include physics factors, chemistry factors and construction factors that are caused by defects of our conventional construction. According to the existing destroy, we analyzed the causes in theory to determine which to be strengthening or to be repaired and curing functionality.This research put forward three repairing and curing projects: one is to use the steel fiber reinforced concrete to repair the road; other is to use Dula fiber concrete to repair the layer; another is to use polymer cement mortar to repair the curing layer. Based on lots of laboratory experiments and compare of different repairing projects, we think that both the first project and the second project are strengthening repairing and we recommend use the polymer cement mortar as repairing materials. That reason is that, only a very thin layer of cement concrete pavement in Qinhuangdao has been loosed and destroyed and it's lower layer still satisfy design strength require. It's a feasible project to repair the loosing destroy cement concrete pavement. Compared with old cement concrete pavement, this material has better cohesiveness, strength, toughness, freezing-resisting property and water-resisting property. We built a test road and after one year, we used surface wave exploration to test. The result is that the repaired layer felt old road well and have no empty spot. We used the pendulum friction tested and the results are the wear-resisting property is better than cement concrete pavement and pendulum friction is higher than cement concrete pavement.In a word, we can conclude from the test results and the theoretical analysis that using polymer cement mortar as lamella repairing layer of the cement concrete pavement has both economic benefits and social benefits.
