Along with the improvement of computer's capability and the popularity of CAD, and with the sharpened of market competition, application of virtual prototype technology become more important. It integrated many advanced technology and method and benefit to short development circle and enhance enterprise' efficiency. So it's a trend in automobile industry.Though use virtual prototype technology, can improve auto product' design level and efficiency. Here, facing the engineering practice of self-discharging wagon design, based on general design method, design tipper-car using MDI's product-ADAMS as tool.Using virtual prototype technology to create tipper lifting mechanism prototype model by ADAMS. The dynamical simulation and parameterized analysis of the model is conducted. Then designer optimizes the layout of the model and the optimal outcome of the key design parameter is realized. Then the simulation of hydraulic system is fulfilled. Last, by united FEM Technology, structure of parts in lifting mechanism has analyzed. It realizes automatic design of lifting tipper mechanism and become a design pattern of it.
