| Controlling and mitigating disasters on railway engineering has been quite a task in the railway maintenance management for dozens of years. And it has been the more serious problem caused by geological hazards in south-west mountains of China. In recent year, the application of Geographic Information System is on the increase in environment, resource, scheme and transportation. And it is coming into use fast for controlling and mitigating disasters. it is very important for the modernization of railway maintenance management to develop the disaster mitigation system by means of new information technology.Railway Maintenance Management Information System for the Geological Disaster and Control could be applied for planning the geological disaster protection engineering and controlling the safety of railway transportation during flood periods, which is supported by the Geographic Information System. Its function includes dealing with geographic information data, disaster forecast and resolution of disaster mitigation in railway maintenance management and it can directly serve railway disaster mitigation. Basing on the work that the author accomplished during the process of developing the system, this paper mainly Includes the following contents:(l)The ensemble layout of Railway Maintenance Management Geological Disaster Information System and the comparison and selection the Geographic Information System software platform.(2)The data collection and establishing database in Railway Maintenance Management Geological Disaster Information System. It mainly introduces the data system, the method that transforms grid-graph into vectorgraph and the ways that founds system database.(3) The device of Geographic Information System main function in Railway Maintenance Management Geological Disaster InformationSystem and the method that carries through second exploitation on the selected Geographic Information System platform.(4)The developing of a dissertation subsystem of "Railway Maintenance Management Information System for Controlling the Safety of Transportation during Flood Periods" . This subsystem can be running unattached. It is developed by adopting component software Geographic Information System technology and using the platform of Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 combined with Geographic Information System component MapObjects 2.0. Its main function is visual management of rainfall data and creating real-time rainfall contour, etc. |
