It is a worldwide trend to improve on traditional cooling system in order to reduce automobile fuel consumption and prolong use life of engine. The base of research on new pattern cooling system is that automotive engine works at 95% of the hour in the range of part burdens, and that engine flat works in part burdens; fuel consumption has great relation with cooling water temperature.The research is an advantageous quest of improvement on and design cooling system. Fan and water pump in traditional cooling system are controlled by engine directly and this fixed control pattern restricts flexibility of engine in different working status specially in execrable working status overheat of cooling system resulting in engine abnormality; in order to change this condition, electromotion of cooling fan has been studied prophasely, further more good effect is acquired. On the base of it, the paper expatiates on the research on intelligent control of cooling water pump. Electromotor joins with high efficiency selected water pump, SCM(Single Chip Micyoco) control system commands water pump according to cooling water temperature which substitutes traditional strap-driving mechanism pump and forms tael-level intellectualized control cooling system combining with electromotion control of cooling fan. Consequently it realizes that water pump and fan autoregulate with engine working status and assures that cooling water temperature keeps in the best range all the time and advances the reliability of engine working and realizes exact control of cooling water temperature in deed.In conclusion, this device cuts engine warm-up time, increases thermal efficiency, boosts up adaptability of engine cooling system in different working status and has the characteristic of delicacy and precise compared with the traditional mechanism pump. It has great significance to develop the intelligent cooling system on the domestic automobile.
