Low-Voltage relay protection devices are widely used in secondary equipments of Power System. With the development of the distributing net automation and power system automation, structures and operating modes of low-voltage power networks come into great change. The users bring forward many new demands for the functions of regular protection devices. There is a popular usage that protection devices run directly in switch cabinet on the spot. So new tasks and the higher demands in application fields of Low-Voltage protection come forth. In order to satisfy the development of power system, adapt the rigorous electromagnetism circumstance in transformer substations, and prolong lifecycle of software, the paper investigates the latest development of software and hardware of protection. Based on it, the intelligent, integrated protection software and hardware platform for low-voltage networks is established. Then the new intelligent and integrated device for low-voltage protection is also developed. This device integrates computer technology, networks, protection, control, measure, and data traffic, makes the plant production and spot service more convenient, and realizes a standardized, open accessed scheme. The device is an industrial control one using microprocessor as the core, fully considering the Electromagnetic Compatibility design, assuring the high reliability and feasibility, and realizing the superiorities of microprocessor protection by intelligent designs.
