Blade grader is mainly used to shove large superficial fields, maintain and build roads. It takes up remarkable status in modern construction. Almost all the blade graders made in China are duplicates or only tiny improvement of overseas products. It is necessary to develop new type of blade grader. The position analysis and motion simulation of blade grader are important to enhance design, manufacture and control quality.According to the company' s demand, the position analysis and motionsimulation of the PY165A blade grader produced by Chengdu Engineering Machine (Group) Company have been done. The outcomes have been obtained as follows:1. Position analysis. An algebraic polynomial equation with 16 degrees for the forward position analysis of the tongue tree is obtained with using of Wu Elimination and all solutions are found then. According to the interference and solution continuous conditions, only one suitable solution can be chosen. By using the result of position analysis, the rotate angle of the tongue tree is determined. Using the travelling matrix and rotary matrix, the ultimately position of scrapping cutter can be obtained.2. Establish three-dimensional solid models. After the forward position analysis, we set up a MFC AppWizard[exe] project called Pingdi ji in Visualadding DrawScreneQ function to CPingdijiView, and making use of the position analysis programs, the technologies of color, illumination, stuff, blend and fog offered by OpenGL, three-dimensional solid models are established. Finally using the technologies of dialog box, menu and toolbar offered by Visual C++6. 0, parameter transfer is realized via adding all kinds of widgets.3. Motion simulation. Via setting up calculagraph, a message is sent to OnTimerQ function once in an interval(such as 1000 ms). After receiving this message, the size of the components is been changed. Then making use of the programs of position analysis and the programs of setting up model, the pictures are redrawn and displayed. Then motion simulation is realized to really simulate the movement of blade grader via the technology of double memory.4. Make browser and help files. In order to observe the model to know the interferential status in all directions, browser is made via matrix manipulation offered by OpenGL. To make the program more advantageous and more integrate, help files of the kind of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language)are developed which offer the application methods and notes for the software. Lastly, beautiful interface and install ing program are made.
