Motor grader is one type of construction machinery for land leveling and plastic.It is widely used in infrastructure, industrial and agricultural production and national defense construction. It has become an indispensable construction equipment especially in the large square, airport and highway construction. With rapid development of coal,non-ferrous metals, and the oil industry, the demand for equipment of production in domestic market has increased year by year. Owing to the development of the mining industry, many foreign markets of developing countries are also adding new demand for high-powered motor graders. In short, high-powered motor grader have shown good market prospect. It has brought a rare opportunity for the manufacturers in this field.Therefore, the research to the structure of high-powered motor grader, driving and controlling technique is particularly necessary.The driving hydraulic system and controlling technique of 500 hp hydrostatic motor grader’s are studied in this paper. The hydraulic system driven scheme of double pumps-double motors is designed and component parameters are calculated and components are selected. According to the speed requirements of the motor grader in the different driving conditions, gears are divided. The synchronized control method is studied and the maximum critical value of motor speed ratio is calculated in the automatic synchronized control mode;The flow ratio of the inside and outside motor is analyzed when motor grader is turning. The control methods for the pumps and motors are designed, as well as the method of self- adaption control between power and load.Based on AMESim software, the model of the 500 hp hydrostatic grader driven system is established and simulated. The simulation results show that the system is feasible and reasonable and consistent with the theoretical calculation. The research of the full hydraulic driving system can be taken as reference for the design of other similar systems.
