with the rapid development of modern techology, the advanced technology is used in modern design more widely, such as the application of CAD, CAE, CAM, ECT, computeraided design. Thesemoderndesignniethod not only raises the design speed, but also make peodt~ts designed by these methods more reliable; and its appearance is more beautiful. It can save a lot of human and physical sources, thus the competitive of the products is increased. However, a few companies in our country only use this advanced design method. In order to shorten the distance of advanced technology between our and foreign country. These modern design methods should be applied in various fields. The application condition of the bulldozer is more worse than other construction machine. The working load beard by bulldozer enlarged according to the requirements of huge projects. The equalizer bar is the key component ot?the bulldozer, it connects let抰 and right undercarriages and bears 50% weight of the machine. Its reliability relates to the normal operation of the machine directly. The breaking at?the equalizer bar of TYH22O bulldozer made by oUr company causes direct economic loss 300,000 Yuan, and the indirect economic loss such as the market share reduced can not be estimated. So it is necessary to improve and redesign the equalizer bar. Its structure analysis and strength calculation still uses traditional method, especially its load is gained through experiment formulation. The stress testing is carried out during studying under the real application condition and a new mechanics model for the equalizer bar is established. Modern design rationale 棗 3D CAD technology is utilized to design the equalizer bar and calculate its strength using finite element method. The results of finite element method are used to check and improve the structure design of the equalizer bar. Our company uses 3D CAD and finite element calculation methods firstly in this project. It verifies that the stress concentration point of the finite element is the breaking point of real application condition and design more reliable equalizer bar.
