A Probe Into University Campus Guide System

From the view of history, design is always experiencing one and one more new round of reform. But in every reform, although design changes styles constantly, but it always follows the principle that finds problems first and solves the problems last. In the earliest time, visual guide according to the definition is not obvious and it belongs to the category of identification. It was not until the 21 st century that the word "visual advertising” was born. Before the appearance of this word, people judge their direction after finding the right reference, such as observeing the sky and ground. The emergence of visual advertising design makes it possible that people won`t get lost in strange place, and with the overseas reform of visual guide system, whether the letters perspective principle guide on underground parking Spaces in Melbourne, Australia, or visual guide system in Japanese Musashino Art University, or graphics code for advertising in the National Zoo, they all has brought great convenience for people’s life. Although domestic design industry began to develop several decades later than that of foreign countries, but in general it is on the sharp rise. In days that design get diversified, it gradually become more simple and life-convenience. On condition that advertising design meets most basic function, it began to continually make new efforts. The introduce of high-tech and humanized elements brought great convenience to people’s life.The eastern campus of Liaocheng University is very far from the western campus and the visual guides system is not thorough, so visitors and freshmen often can not find their destination. In order to solve the above problems, This paper aims at designing appropriate visual guides system that is suitable to Liaocheng University by analyzing excellent cases of visual guides system and grasping the designing method and principle of that. There are 6 chapters in this paper in the research progress. In the first chapter we have the expound from the aspects of research background, necessity &significance, overseas and domestic research status and development tendency. In the first chapter the research combines the college visual guide design in the chapter 2, which includes the oversea general situation of college visual guide design, the existing problems and excellent cases analysis. In the third chapter the paper studies the information spreading of visual guides system. In the fourth chapter this paper firstly analyzes the visual guides system of Liaocheng University and then the methods of document consulting and field research get used, then the paper raises existing problems and rational suggestions about the visual guides system. Then we present concrete design scheme of college visual guides system by the method and principle of visual guides design methods and this paper has the research from 4 aspects of identifying the topic, layout design, position selection and textures application. The content of chapter 5 is graphical abstract and coming to the design conclusion. The sixth chapter gives a trend prediction and expectation of the future visual guides system design.
