Study On Congestion Control Of Xinling Section Of Hangjinqu Expressway

Since we entered the twenty-first Century, highway traffic congestion has seriously affected the development of social economy and people’s travel demand. With the further development of the social economy, the highway congestion problem aggravated day by day. Hangjinqu highway is a major highway that connected with the Yangtze River Delta region and the Midwest of China. Hangjinqu highway was opened on 28th, Dec.2002, the traffic flow increased fast with the rapid economic development along this region. Zhuyong highway opened on 22, Jul.2010, traffic flow increased dramatic on Xinling section. Due to XinLing tunnel Xinling section becomes a traffic bottleneck on Hangjinqu highway, it is one of the hot topic which people concern. Based on the congestion problem on Hangjinqu highway Xinling section, in order to improve traffic capacity, reduce the accident rate, strengthened the management on Hangjinqu highway Xinling section, so the title of this article comes up in such a background.This article is mainly based on survey, data statistics and analysis, by using the traffic management theory and method to research and explore the problem of traffic congestion in Hangjinqu highway Xinling section. The article puts forward the corresponding strategies and measures to solve the congestion problem on Hangjinqu highway Xinling section. Firstly, the background and significance of research has been put forward by this article, through comparing with the domestic and foreign research situation and the method to solve the highway traffic congestion problem. Then the article introduces the background and significance of Hangjinqu highway Xinling section congestion control, by using the SWOT analysis method to analyze the Xinling section governance, Proposed the congestion management strategy., Secondly, focused on the analysis of the reason which is leading to the congestion on Hangjinqu highway Xinling section, then proposed the congestion management strategy by analyzing the traffic capacity, traffic accident, road structure status etc. finally put forward the correct solution to avoid Xinling section congestion. These solutions include:improve road infrastructure, improve the traffic capacity; strengthen logistics linkage, reduce road traffic accidents; to increase investment in science and technology, improve the safe driving ability, to carry out intelligent the traffic construction, to strengthen the publicity guide to driver and conductor, to reduce the demands of highway network to alleviate Xinling section congestion. These researches on Xinling section congestion management methods and suggestions, also has certain reference significance for other highway congestion management.
