From The Perspective Of Space Media, Shanghai International Youth Hostel

The object of this study is the space of Shanghai international youth hostel. Space is both real and imaginative. There are12international youth hostels in Shanghai now. Chapter1is a summary. Chapter2is the main body of this study, we try to research the space of Shanghai international youth hostel from three aspects:the geographical location, the architectural design and the public space. Chapter3is a further discuss to the third space. And the last chapter is epilogue. We provide some suggests for the follow researchers. Space is a kind of media. It spreads information to the young people who stay in it. The effect is potential but powerful. There also are many conflicts in the space which could be a channel to the so-called third space. For the young travellers, the space of Shanghai international youth hostel is such a space which full of illusion, ideal and dream.
