Yanzhao Traditional Cultural Code's Morden Architectural Expression

Yan Zhao culture is an important part of Chinese traditional culture. As the faithful records of culture, for thousands of years, the remains of yanzhao traditional building are numerous. They recorded the abundant and massive history and traditional culture of this area in various degrees. However, when you look through contemporary Yan Zhao architecture, you will find the wonderful architecture which can reflect Yan Zhao regional feature and its unique regional culture is lacking. Most of the buildings just blindfold follow the trend of the other place. The Consequence of that is this area which has many old urban city appeared obviously "aphasia" phenomenon.This article takes the expression of Yan Zhao traditional culture as investigation object. The detail researches are taken on how to express the trational culture in modern architecture design by the form of traditional culture codes according to the codes theory of architecture semeiology. The article starts with the relationship between Yan Zhao traditional culture and Yan Zhao traditional buildings, where the forming factors and conditions of traditional architecture style, the tradional culture expression in Yan Zhao traditional buildings and other culture heritage, etc. are discuessed. Besides, the representative culture codes in Yan Zhao traditional buildings are analysed.Secondly, by using architecture codes theory we analyse and abstract the traditional culture and get Yan Zhao culture codes system which can represent the regional feature. In the end, we layeredly take examples from macro to micro to analyse how Yan Zhao culture codes system is used and expressed in modern architecture, and advance some particular methods on how to use the codes in architecture design according to their own character.From the analysis and research in this article, we gets the following conclusions: Yan Zhao traditional culture can be adequately expressed in architecture in the form of architecture culture codes; we can show the regional traditional culture feature by expressing the spiritual connotation and material codes system of regional traditional culture. It can be used to deal with "aphasia" phenomenon in modern architecture design and exhibit regional culture in new architecture design and old buildings rebuilt.
