With the deeper exploitation of marine resources, and the quickly development of marine military, the relationship between the ocean and people has become closer, more and more attention has been pained to the detective technology of the ocean. Our country has a widely ocean area of about 300 million square kilometers, and is very rich in marine resources; the advanced detective technology of the ocean will supply reliable method for the marine protection and exploitation of marine resources. As the main detective method, the sonar technology has developed quickly, served as one kind of sonar technology, the towed array cable is widely used in military submarine, marine oil detective and the marine terrain measurement, Due to some unique advantages, the towed array cable has play an important role in the sonar technology. However, some problems have to be solved in the technology of the towed array cable. Based on the research of sonar technology, the technology of signal acquisition, signal transmission on the cable and data transmission to the terminal in the towed array cable have been analyzed in this article, some solutions to the system have been proposed.The main work is shown as follows:(1)The features of the acquisition system have been analyzed. Based on the analysis of the features, the principle of choosing the hydrophone and the topology of the acquisition system have been researched. Some important parameters in the system have been analyzed and the acquisition board has been designed.(2)The features of towed array cable transmission have been researched, the topology of the system based on pipeline and the transmission protocol have been designed. High speed transmission system and low but convenient transmission system are both designed to be used in different requirements of the transmission distance or speed. The schematic has been designed, and the code in the FPGA has been programmed according to the transmission protocol and the requirements of the pipeline topology, and the simulation has been made successfully. In the test condition of 100 meters transmission and the 192Mbps transmission baud rate, data transports during three boards successfully and no error has happened during 6 hours. (3)The up-transmission system based on PCI has been designed and the PCI acquisition board has been made. The code in the FPGA has been programmed. So far, the data can be received successfully and the communication between the board and PC by PCI has been finished.(4)The interface has been programmed by VC++, the control has been made and the data can been stored successfully. So far, the data transported from the acquisition board by PCI can be stored correctly in a long time.
