With the passage of time and the rapid development of technology, the ocean isgradually known by human beings as the cradle of life. Human beings are payingmore and more attention to the economic potential of ocean. Towed array sonarsystem is widely used in military and civilian aspect, can be achieved underwatersound sampling. The data recording system has many features, such as large data,high real-time and continuity. This paper focuses on data transmission requirements,designs a PCI card for underwater system and computer connection, and PC softwarefor data storage and real-time interactive control.The essay completes the work as follows:1. Based on the characteristics of sonar systems, analyzed the indicators of towedarray sonar system and shipboard systems and underwater sonar systems buildingblocks were introduced, while focusing on the analysis of the transmission system andits design specifications.2. Focus on the towed array sonar data recording system. Firstly, design thehardware based on the following aspects: the recording interface scheme selection,cache scheme selection, hardware structure selection. Secondly, design the hardwarecircuit (PCB design, Verilog programming). According to different applications, thisessay designed two different interface data recording cards.3. Based on the requirement analysis of system PC software, the essay designedpowerful PC software that concludes many functions. The core technologies include:double Ping-Pong structure memory mapped file to realize long continuous datatransmission; MATCOM programming technology to achieve real-time echo; multi-threading technology to accomplish acquisition, storage, display.4. Raise a method of the PCI bus DMA efficient transmission. In order to achievehigh-speed DMA transfer, do these three steps: set the register, set the external signalinput, use shared buffer.5. Designed two experiments in laboratory and field conditions. PCI cardreliability test was held under laboratory conditions, it proved the system reliabilityand stability; field experiment was held at Tianjin Qilihai reservoir outfield, the workachieved a lot of the actual data to verify the reliability of research results.
