| Since 1575 , Hohhot has been the center city of the Inner Mongolia region, urban development and self-organization at the unbalanced development of the force under its organization (the impact of war, etc.) rise and fall several times. Hohhot secluded inland, its development is rooted in the base of agriculture economic. With the spatial structure of urban functions in the context of the times, into the industrial elements, led to the evolution of urban spatial structure , although Hohhot is not in the direct control of Western colonialism in the range. Hohhot as a traditional inland center city, in the development process and administrative constraints to the system as the leading force, is a typical interaction between external shocks and internal strain of modern urban development cases. In this paper, history and related disciplines of urban planning theory approach to the city into a modern entry point for efforts to explore the evolution of urban form of the modern history of Hohhot, features, dynamic mechanism and evolution of urban space reveals the evolution of Hohhot, the modernization process.This introduction (chapter) established the general concept of research, on this basis, the main part start from the liberation of the Republic of China to the early evolution of Hohhot's urban spatial structure as the core. Main contents and conclusions are as follows:First, from a macro perspective of the region discussed the geographical development basic of the modern history of Hohhot (Chapterâ…¡). Since the modern city of Hohhot city site selection based on historical geographical advantages, with its natural conditions of agriculture and urban transportation, military defense and other conditions, Hohhot remains the spatial characteristics of agricultural civilization during a considerable period of time.Secondly, from the study of this period the history of urban construction (Chapterâ…¢), ,after Hohhot Opening, a change in city building, and bud development of modern industrialization, the city's outer space form also changed .The extension of urban functions were dispersed geographical structure. The emergence of patches and the spatial variation of the old city, the new city and the Metro station functions. The evolution of urban spatial structure of urban space was chemotactic factor concentric set of factors to the heart of the city gathering, was "T" axis of development.Again, discusses the evolution of urban internal spatial structure and its causes of the internal functional elements from the city and the level of the process of evolution of function space (Chapterâ…£). From the city of deep internal structures (political, social, economic, cultural), the paper discusses the city is still maintained as the core of non-equilibrium of the "garrison town" to the formation of new urban area to the old city and the Metro Area and between the internal filling and then to expand the development and function of peripheral integration and other aspects of the evolution of modern features.Finally, the analysis is based on previous research content to the main line of modern development, the evolution of urban spatial structure on the characteristics (Chapterâ…¤). From the characterization of the modernization of urban space, the evolution trend of urban spatial structure rules, the dynamic evolution of urban space and other factors discussed three aspects of urban spatial structure and evolution of Hohhot's features, summarizes the characteristics of the evolution of urban spatial structure, regional structure of urban experience the "scattered along the edge of heart-shaped" pattern toward the development of the heart "to the heart of a centrifugal type of gathering" mode, and the uneven development within cities and the evolution of self-organization.In this paper, from the new perspective of multi-ethnic city of Hohhot, the object to the perspective of national history evolution to research, is the content and method add of the history of urban planning and development framework built.
