As a designer, we always search for the plane models in the history which we take as a database. We use and reorganize the geometric elements. Many designers do not understand social and cultural meanings behind these flat plan models. The city is a combination of social order and living type, so we have to get a thorough understanding of the social meaning behind the plane model. The author tries to place the main stages of the culture in the histories of Europe parallel with the plane models; explore the cultural context and extract the relationship between urban form elements; summarize the organization and classification of different types of plane models which are related urban character. We should deeply understand the characteristics of urban and the theory of culture both in the time and space. This paper is divided into three parts. The first part is about the statement of the content, methods, innovations, and organizational structure. The second part is the extraction and analysis from the typical representative of the urban plane models which are divided into three types: the orthogonal grid city, the center city, the centrifugal city, and the city with Irregular grids and fuzzy heart. The third part wants to analyze the leading elements in the three types of plane models that can guide us in the design...
