The construction of pumped-storage power station's reservoir excavation is a complex system, which consists of many workstage continuously circulation, reservoir excavation construction is involved with many aspects, such as excavated plane layout, equipment selection, and transportation of excavation material and so on. At the same time, reservoir excavation is closely affected by hydrogeological conditions, land and migration, construction schedule of dam, planning of material, transportation roads etc. In order to reflect distinctly the performance of the reservoir excavation complex system, and to provide the user vivid dynamic visual information, it is necessary to develop an intuitive, dynamic and coherent visualization system simulation.Firstly, the pumped-storage power station and design of reservoir excavation, the concept of computer simulation and its application, GIS system theory were described briefly. Then, combined with AutoCAD, GIS, computer simulation, and database management, elaborated using GIS to develop pumped-storage power station's reservoir excavation visualization simulation, which is feasibility and effectiveness. Explore the complex simulation visualization system of pumped storage power station reservoir excavation.The paper analysed the reservoir excavation system of pumped-storage power station, which including the system influence factors and characteristics, in this way we set up simulation model of reservoir excavation. By the use of the GIS technology which has a powerful spatial data processing capabilities, combining with the variety types of graphics software for visualization modeling, and applying the object-oriented programming method to develop a system of the dynamic visualization for the reservoir excavation. The thesis uses two different ways to establish excavation model, economics models to discuss the reasons for the existing problems, then through the comparison made clear their respective characteristics.Finally, combined with a Pumped-Storage Power Station Reservoir Excavation, the visualizing simulation system of reservoir excavation construction, which is composed of modules of data management, system modeling, dynamic simulate, output of result, was designed and developed by utilizing Object-Orient Method and visualizing simulation technology.
