The Research On Restoration Of Changchun People's Art Theatre

Changchun is a northern city with rich features. In the historical process of more than 200 years, architecture of the Manchukuo Period played an important role in the modern history of architecture of Changchun as well as promoted the city's development in a special way. Due to the special political status of Changchun in the past, people had some prejudice against the buildings of Manchukuo. In recent years, with the change of people's concept and the enhanced awareness of protection of historical buildings, the architecture that has been covered with political color is listed as relics. The rehabilitation project of Changchun People's Art Theatre is a meaningful practice of the conservation of modern architecture in Changchun city.In this article, the author has, on the basis of participation of the restoration work and according to theoretical researches, done a systematic analysis of the existent problems in restoration principles, technology strategy and restoration practices and puts forward some suggestions for the restoration principles and practices appropriate for protection and restoration work of modern architecture and future restorations.The restoration principle of Changchun People's Art Theatre is based on comprehensive understanding of concepts of conservation and restoration at home and abroad at present. Nowadays, authenticity, identifiability and reversibility are looked as the most basic and most important principles by the international organization. From the domestic perspective,'restore the old buildings following the old samples'and'do not change the original state of the cultural relics'are actually the embodiment of authenticity. The article, based on the theoretical researches and the analysis of the present state of the People's Art Theatre, establishes related issues of principles and methods of conservation and restoration, so as to provide some guidance to the practice of restoration effectively and ensure the preservation of all the historical information and values of the People's Art Theatre.The effective implementation of the principles of protection and conservation cannot do without accurate application of protection and conservation technology. In the course of restoration practice, appropriate use of new technologies and materials can help preserve the value of historical buildings effectively. In the process of restoration of the People's Art Theatre, new technologies and materials have been experimented. In particular, some buildings that have been damaged beyond repair have been demolished and rebuilt. In order to meet the requirements of future application, new technologies must be used in the reconstruction to make the historical buildings restored authentically. This article records the technical materials and construction methods adopted in the restoration of the People's Art Theatre, and analyzes the implementation and practice of the principles of protection and conservation.The article mainly analyzes the above-mentioned problems relating to the restoration of Changchun People's Art Theatre, which will hopefully provide a reference for the restoration work of modern architecture in the future.
