A large amount of thorough and meticulous research work is needed for driver-vehicle-road closed-loop system evaluation and design for handling and stability with the high demand of vehicle active safety. For example, rationality and application of evaluation method and evaluation index,shortening cycle of evaluation,optimal design,application of advanced means of science and technology. In this paper, based on the comprehensive evaluation of human-vehicle closed-loop system for handling and stability proposed by Guo Konghui academician, the above problems were solved. The main research work was as follows.1. A new way was presented to decide index weights for the evaluation subjective, which caused unreasonable easily for weigh coefficient as one. In this way, the sequence rule relationships between single indicators were considered and made the evaluation system more reasonable.2. The design method of vehicle handling and stability was introduced. On this basis, vehicle speed factor was considered for the road safety. Then evaluation and design method of vehicle handling stability for traffic safety was proposed, which offered reference for the safety design of vehicle.3. And implement the way based on the virtual prototype software ADAMS. Next, the influence to the index caused by the road adhesion coefficient and the reaction of the driver was elaborated and the law of each single index and comprehensive evaluation index with the variation of speed on both earth road and asphaltic road was analyzed. Finally, speed range of cars for the best comprehensive evaluation index was found.4. The parameterized model of coach was established by ADAMS. Combined optimum design theory, optimization was achived and the matching scheme of the coach structure parameters were got, which provides a reference to improve vehicle handling and stability.Results show that the dissertation solved the dominant problems that have been hindered vehicle handling and stability evaluation. Thus, the performance of vehicle can be improved and active safety of vehicle can be enhanced. What's more, it could also significantly shorten the production cycle and reduce costs. That is of great significance for us to enhance the level of vehicle design.
