As the developing of military automation of commanding, "the fog of war" is an important factor in the decisions of command, which restricts the result of battlefield.But on the battlefield the commanders are always in the status of losing and unknown.Which leads to the decline of commanders' decision-making.The reason is that the commanders are lost in unknown status.How to strengthen the status of battlefield became very important. As the response of attlefield in the situation,the combatants action,and trend of situation,System of battlefield situation rehearsal based on GIS provides ample expression of battlefield and process of deduction.In this condition,the commanders can get more time and condition to win the the last battle.The traditional way of rehearsal are terrain rehearsal, map rehearsal, and table-toprehearsal in the military command.which need more time and more costing,but they have the defects of poor accuracy and low reliability.Now the focus of the battlefield situation rehearsal is in the expression of situation. And it hasn't combine the geographical dimension and the battlefield environment. In order to promote the development of battlefield automation, and to solve the "fog of war" on the adverse effects of the battle command, In the paper, we realizate a prototype system of battlefield situation rehearsal, Which is used to assist commanders to grasp battlefield situation and to do effective policy. This system is based on MapGIS K9, which is good at data management in two and three dimensional GIS data.The paper uses the clue of research and implementation system of battlefield situation rehearsal based on GIS.It has research the following issues.At last, we provide the corresponding solutions in implementation of system.1) In order to integrate the situation symbol information and the geographic information data,It requires both of plotting components completely independent of the base map data and situation system base map data related to geographical factors.which is about coordinates and height. So this requires the realization of the synchronization display and independent management of battlefield data and geographic data.2) We have to implemente the linkage in two and three dimensional situation map.lt involves the realization of the two and three dimensional symbol, which is including the calculation,display and rendering in vector label,and display in plotted symbols.Because the situation symbols is created by the calculation of key points. It maybe have some different in two and three dimensional of display and store.Base on the maximizing of file information,the system only system the key points and key information. So the effects of display in two and three dimensional are generated in real time.3) Design the recording modes and the expression in the process of situation map rehearsal. The key point in the rehearsal process records is how to set the path and storage of the rehearsal process.This problem directly affects the way and efficiency of the rehearsal process expression.4) Design and implementate system of situation rehearsal.The design and implementation of system should follow the principles of software engineering design,including "loose coupling, but strong cohesion".Base on the platform of Mapgis K9,we have build a prototype system of situation rehearsal.The component of military plotting in generation algorithm have been developed to use in different platform.
