Research, Visualization Techniques Based On Remote Sensing Information Of The Battlefield Situation

Battlefield visualization primarily comprises the battlefield environment visualization and the battlefield posture visualization. The development of battlefield environment three-dimensional visualization technology put higher demand on the battlefield posture visualization technology. Whereas the traditional two-dimensional posture plotting system hasn't expressed the realistic battlefield three-dimensional posture. Therefore it is more and more urgent to develop the corresponding three-dimensional posture plotting technology. This thesis focuses on the battlefield posture visualization technology based on remote sensing information, which is the combination of the remote sensing technology, terrain 3D visualization technology and the battlefield 3D posture visualization technology. The research of 3D military posture visualization technology enriches the theory and method of computer aided plotting.Firstly, through analyses and comparison of the battlefield posture visualization and military plotting, 3D posture visualization method and 2D posture visualization method, this paper points out that, under the current technical conditions and application requirement circumstances, both the 2D posture visualization and the 3D posture visualization methods should be used synthetically to express the military posture information. Secondly, several three-dimensional Graphics modeling methods based on OpenGL are summarized. Thirdly, it separately discusses the workspace of the 3D posture-the 3D terrain modeling and its spatial query and analysis function, and the object of the 3D posture-the modeling process of the 3D military symbol. Finally, a battlefield three-dimensional posture visualization prototype system named 3DMPS on PC platform is introduced.
