With the improvement of living standard and environmental quality in buildings, large quantity of energy is being consumed by HVAC equipments. In the process of maintaining thermal comfort of rooms, energy-saving control strategy may bring lots of profits and social welfare. According to the characteristics and control mode of controlled rooms, there are two types of controlling system-----single-region system and multi-region system. Two controlling methods were discussed in this paper for the following aspects.(1) Mathematical models of main HVAC components, such as mixing process channels, coolers, rooms and fans, are established based on heat balance algorithm, which forms the mathematical essence for the following study in HVAC.(2) In the single-region system, enthalpy theory is combined effective with temperature criterion in the air mixing process. By regulating damper of fresh air and return air, such approach cannot only maintain the thermal comfort of rooms, but also decreases energy consumption of coolers by 18 percent.(3) In the multi-region system, the variable air inlet temperature supplying theory has been applied in the temperature control process of supplying air. This theory is based on thermal boundary threshold, which is proved to optimize the constant air temperature strategy and enhance the energy efficiency of coolers.(4) In the three dimension space of enthalpy-humidity, a comfortable surface is figured out to advance all rooms' thermal comfort, which optimizes the variable air inlet temperature supplying theory. This paper combines the HVAC control and comfort degree calculation, and puts forwards control strategies for improving AHU's energy efficiency in summer season. All these strategies are simulated under simulink environment and proved to be effective, which has a definite significance on the air conditioning energy-saving management.
