With the rapid development of the Chinese economy, domestic petroleum chemical industry, coal chemical industry, other industrial buildings industry have also been developing rapidly. So, the hoisting project are getting more and more along with it, where it is more and more popular for lifting thousands tons of equipments. Besides, equipments shape are ever-changing, and construction sites are more and more complex. Hence, safety, reliability and high efficiency for lifting scheme become critical, and the locations of cranes are obviously play the most important role. A well-planned crane locating scheme should not only improve working efficiency,but also avoid any possible accidents caused by collision,overload and etc. Therefore the location optimization design of cranes has the pivotal function to the lifting security.First of all, this paper analyzes the structure and mechanism of crawler crane. After that the lifting style of tower equipment is researched by this paper in order to obtain the potential factors in this process. Finally, the common position optimization mode is analyzed and researched by this paper to avoid risk factors.Second of all, after studied related location optimization method, in view of the complex construction sites, this paper has given the single crawler crane single duty location optimization method. In this paper, based on overlapping work envelopes, we present optimized solutions for collisionfree locating of mobile cranes. Our solution first determines the feasible location areas of the cranes, which are discretized with regular grids. We then incorporate a collision detection method, through which the locations with potential collision are eliminated. With the objective of minimizing the weight sum about safety, a smart search is further performed to identify the most suitable locations.In the end, because of the character of modern lifting process, two cooperative crawler cranes lifting are quite widely used. As a result, this paper supplies the location optimization method under two cooperative crawler cranes lifting. This method takes the location of lifting equipment, main crane and tail crawler crane into account. Firstly, a reasonable search area has to be set up and in this area dichotomy is applied to search this area. After that, based on the position of the lifting equipment, the available position area of the two cranes can be ensured. Because of the security consideration, this paper utilizes hoisting simulation and 3D collision detection to exclude impacting points and establish weighting and optimizing objective. Furthermore, enumeration method is applied to traverse the available position of the hoisting equipment and two cranes. As a result, the optimizing position can be obtained.On the foundation of a depth insight about the crawler crane lifting process, this paper focuses study on the location of the crawler crane and then applies the location optimization method to 3D lifting simulation system as a part of the intelligent computation module, which is exploited by this discussion group. This paper also applies the 3D lifting system software to process case study and the results verify the practicability and feasibility of this method. As a result, the making efficiency of lifting project is improved and the labor force of lifting workers is liberated.
