ABSTRACT:Waiting room is the most densely clustered stations passengers, visitors stay the longest time, and the last place before the final pit stop, so the waiting capacity of waiting room is the important technical parameters in railway passenger terminal renovation and expansion. Its size is closely related to the maximum number of passengers of waiting area. This mainly contents includes are as follows:(1) This paper analyzed the research status both in China and abroad which includes the development of railway passenger station, the disadvantages of maximum assembling calculation method and the standard of service level rating. Then from the main factors of railway passenger waiting ability, this paper discusses the waiting model of the terminal is transiting from waiting-type model to waiting-through model, and analyzes the waiting model of the terminal line at this stage.(2) This paper analyzed the passenger travel distance, time value and the urban traffic situation on the impact of waiting time, with Beijing West Railway Station and South Station with the actual investigation, and researches the characteristics of the arrival and departure passengers in the waiting area of passengers station, also the time distribution of arriving passengers in advance, in order to provide theoretical support for the calculation Maximum Assembling. And this paper divides level of service grades into five grades A-E, according to the passenger per capita size of waiting area at station.(3) This paper researches the modeling of probability statistics and process ideas, also analyzes the shortcomings of the model, and from the perspective of the definition and passenger organizations, average treatment the number of intensive sessions together, and then uses the correct factor to improve the existing model of probability and statistics.(4) According to the data of LanZhou station, this paper analyzed the results of three different methods, and make sure that the improved model has research significance and applicable value.
