It has been conclude by a series of engineering experiences that the temperature fields of deck pavement and road structures have a great effect upon the bearing capacity and Long-Term Pavement Performance (LTPP). The study on steel bridge deck asphalt pavement is an important part and foundation of LTPP study. If it is possible to predict exactly the temperature field in steel bridge deck asphalt pavement based on air temperature and so on, the pavement structure design methods will be greatly improved.Based on three studies"Long-Term Performance of Steel Bridge Deck Pavement Technology","Typical Structure of Steel Truss Bridge Asphalt Pavement"and"Stability of Bridge Deck Asphalt Pavement", several Projects"Yun Zao-bang Steel Bridge in Shanghai Jiading","Jia Er-su Steel-Concrete Bridge in Xinjiang Yili"and"Si Tai NO.1 Steel-Concrete Bridge in Xinjiang Yili"and so on, we carried out researches and experiments on bridge deck pavement high and low temperature fields and got a great number of data.The paper analyzed the temperature distributions, the temperature change speed and the temperature grades characteristics and influence factors. With statistical methods, we derived a regression formula for daily high temperature and low temperature. With the formulas, we discussed the asphalt pavement design value at the bridges.
