Since the late 20th century, automobile industry has developed rapidly, which obviously brought great pressure to the energy and environment. As a result, the designers of related auto parts are facing great opportunities and challenge. Engine, the auto power unit, is the core component of modern automobile. The modern market requires the engine has these qualifications: low emissions, high-power, light weight and high speed technology.The engine cylinder head is one of the most important diesel engine parts, so its design quality has a direct influence on the diesel engine's integrative performance. This paper probes into dynamic analysis method for engine cylinder head on a basis of the dynamic response analysis of one type of diesel engine cylinder head. In the whole design research process, the author firstly builds the geometric models of this type's cylinder head, body, gasket and other components. And then successfully establishes the cylinder head's finite model of composite structure through modern finite element technology. In order to make calculated results reliable, the author adopts the relatively mature statics analysis method of finite element of structure, selects and compares the static calculated results of dynamic load of an outbreak conditions. The section of transient dynamic analysis is based on step-by-step integration method and mode superposition method to solve dynamic response. 3 cycles under calibration conditions are selected and discreated into load step. Lastly, the author establishes the best dynamic response analysis method through the results obtained by statics of structure and transient analysis. The application of this method can effectively shorten the design period, reduce the error caused by repeated tests as well as experimental judge and apply virtual prototype design method to the design and development of engineering products.This study successfully solves the problem of how to choose dynamic analysis method of this type of diesel cylinder head, which provides the reliable theory for dynamic response analysis of other types of diesel cylinder head and makes a guarantee for the shortening and process of the design period. What's more, it accumulates valuable date for design department and offers the experience for adopting the modern technology; which also proves the feasibility of the application of virtual prototype in the engines'design and development, and contributes to the application of finite element method in enterprises and the developments of the products. At last, it has demonstrative significance for the products development in the future.
