The pressing quality of cylinder head on power assembly of GEVO16 diesel engine is directly related to the quality of the whole diesel engine,while the diesel engine is the“heart” of the locomotive,thus it is very important to ensure the characteristics of pressure mechanism for cylinder head.For the press mounting equipment in this paper,due to the problems on bending deformation of frame found in the work,the obvious valve seat indentation as well as tube flattened will be caused and the some work pieces will be discarded or reworked,which will bring adverse effect on processing time and cost,so the equipment must be improved in order to improve the pressing acceptance rate of cylinder head.This paper focuses on the improved design of cylinder head on power assembly,main content includes introducing the assembly line for cylinder head,statistic of pressing quality problems on cylinder head and analyzing the cause of the problem and putting forward the improved design scheme.For the frame of pressing equipment for original cylinder head,study the static and dynamic characteristics with finite element analysis software ANSYS and analyze the deformation angle through the static data.Natural frequency and vibration mode under the constraints for the frame will be achieved through the modal analysis.The maximum amplitude and the corresponding frequency range at different point on the frame will be determined under press mounting force through harmonic response analysis,find out the specific reason for the vibration and provide reference basis for improving frame.According to the cause of the problems,use PRO/E software to improve beams and columns of frame assembly,and implement the static and dynamic characteristics analysis on them.The inherent frequency of the frame is obviously improved compared to the original one.Through actual use of cylinder head,the results show that pressing acceptance rate of cylinder head of GEVO16 diesel engine has been improved in contrast to the past.
