Diesel engine develops towards the direction of the high power density and high speed because of the energy crisis, serious air pollution and the strict environmental regulations. In the operation of the engine, it is subjected to the alternate load and high thermal load. The working condition is the worst. Cylinder head is the core of the engine components. It needs to bear high temperature and high pressure. The fatigue life of cylinder head is the key parameter to the durability of the engine. The study of the thermal and mechanical strength is the key of the engine parts design.According to natural science foundation of Hunan Province(10JJ6080) and state key laboratory of advanced design and manufacturing for vehicle body(61075002), a certain diesel engine cylinder head has been studied. The numerical simulation of the performance and strength analysis of the cylinder head were carried out based on thermosetting coupling method and verified by the experiment. Optimize the structure of the cylinder head by design of experiments. The main research works and innovational points are as follows:(1)The temperature of cylinder head was measured through the temperature measurement experiment of the cylinder head. Match the fire surface parameters and the heat transfer coefficient of the heat exchange surface by software. And the data was used as the boundary conditions of ABAQUS. The temperature calculated by software was compared with the experimental data. If there is a difference, then correct the parameters until they are matched.(2)The diesel engine cylinder head thermosetting coupling numerical simulation model was established. The cylinder head and related parts of the whole model were set up. In order to simulate the real engine operation, the model was added loads according to the engine assembly and the engine operating conditions. Analysis the temperature field, stress distribution and deformation distribution of the cylinder head in order to do research on the causes of the cylinder head cracking.(3)Design of the experiments was used to analyze how base plate thickness、 median plate thickness、top plate thickness、in-exhaust side plate thickness、the water jacket height and etc.influenced the bridge of the nose stress of the cylinder head. Then the cylinder head structure improvement scheme was put forward.Provide a reference for the bridge of the nose optimization of the cylinder head by analyzing the optimized scheme.
