In the future war, armed helicopters will be the main assault force in the battle field. When facing the enemy helicopters which are attacking on a large scale, it is a key to destroy them for winning a battle. The mechanism of energy absorption and conversion of double-layer liners is more reasonable, and chemical energy is used more fully, significantly improving the projectile's penetration capability. The placed coaxial liner that a single material is changed into the two materials forms double explosively formed penetrator , enhancing the EFP's aspect ratio to achieve the effect of increased penetration depth.The domestic and international research of multi-layer explosively formed penetrator and the forming principle of the explosively formed projectile are narrated .The new structure of EFP with sandwich material is proposed ,and analysis of sandwich material impacting on its formation shows EFP has the best formation when the material is plastic.On this basis, the forming of EFP is simulated at the different parameters including respectively the thickness of the liner, the radius of curvature, materials, and the front cover with variable wall thickness and so on. The results show that the proposed structure of shaped charge can form separated EFP .By comparison, the results of numerical simulation show that the EFP has the best forming when the thickness of the front liner is variable and curvature radius of the liner is 150mm.Finally, the liner material, radius and wall thickness of the front liner are considered into the orthogonal optimal design, to study the impact on the aspect ratio of EFP. By analyzing its resulting range and variance,draw the conclusion : The liner material of EFP has the most significant impact on the aspect ratio of EFP, and the variable thickness of the front liner a little impacts on the aspect ratio on the formation of the EFP. The study can afford the reference for the development of double-layer tandem EFP Warhead.
