| With the development of the times, urban landscape design and construction have improved a lot. However, the impact of globalization, and the problems of westernization and identical issues in urban landscape design, lead to the loss of traditional features. In the modern urban landscape design, as the display of characteristics, the traditional elements of regional culture obtain more and more attention. Jinan is a city with profound traditional culture, and also a modern city, facing the problem in modern urban landscape design: how blend valuable traditional elements into modern urban landscape design to possess the city both with traditional features and the needs of contemporary aesthetic. The author attempts to explore this very issue in the following structures. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first Chapter is"Traditional Elements and Modern Urban Landscape Design"; Focuses on the concepts of traditional elements and modern urban landscape design and the linkages and contradictions exist between the two. Chapter Two is"Analysis of Jinan Traditional Elements of Urban Landscape"; mainly from the two directions to analyze the characteristics of landscape elements in Jinan city, one is the analysis of material elements, the aspects of space, form, color, texture will be studied; the other is the element of ideological, the traditional ideological content which impact some of the Jinan urban landscape, such as natural aesthetic, Confucianism, traditional gardening ideology are to be analyzed. This chapter tries to summarize Jinan's traditionally characteristics of landscape elements. Chapter Three discusses"Appliance of Traditional Elements in Design of Modern Urban Landscape in Jinan". The chapter will study on how to apply traditional elements to modern urban landscape design, respectively from two aspects:the traditional material elements and the traditional ideological elements. The former is divided into two steps, extraction of the elements and innovative applications,extraction of the elements includes extracting the physical elements and the design language, innovation of the element were described from several aspects:simplify,abstract, reconstruction, texture, vector; the latter focus on how to use the traditional view of nature, Confucianism and traditional gardening ideology to guide the modern urban landscape design. By studying the application of characteristics of the traditional elements in Jinan, this chapter explores the specific methods of combining traditional elements with the modern urban landscape design. |
