The amount of vehicle keep increasing due to the development of the auto industry, the environment has been deteriorating, at the meantime, the traditional fuel become tension, so it is very important to search for a new energy to replace it for any enterprise. The LPG has a advantage of lower cost, higher heat value and a fine property of anti-explosion, while it contains no lead and sulfur. It is a promising clean fuel in the future. The LPGV(LPG vehicle)'s technology is matured, and it is safe and reliable.In recent years, a large market is built in LPGV area.This paper is based on a project of a development of a EFI LPG engine minicar, it describes a integrated technology on the design and development of the'LPG system, including the gas tank, pipeline, vaporizer & pressure regulator, solenoid valve, ECU's arrangement and installation. Digital models are also provided to give a clear view of the design. The paper provides a overall material of a procedure of a LPG system's development.According to the selection experiment, receives the experimental data of the performance of the key component, based on those data, a better kind of component is chosen to ensure the stability and the reliability of the LPG system.A bench experiment is performanced, according to the load characteristic experiment and the speed characteristic experiment, a comparison of the drivability and the economy performance between LPG and petrol is obtained:The LPG fuel power is less than the petrol fuel, but less fuel is needed. The emission testing shows the emission property of the LPG fuel at different working condition, it helps the following experiment.The injection pulse width and the ignition advanced angle demarcate data shows the affection they cause to the power and the emission of the engine. According to the analysis of the data on a specific engine speed, the best control parameters are chosen to make sure the engine works at the best status. Then the injection pulse width MAP and the Ignition advanced angle MAP are given to show the general performance of the engine.The paper describes the cold condition test. By the test, the sample car's activate performance, power performance, idle stability is tested and verified. For some unsatisfied items, the ECU is properly adjusted, to ensure the car will work normally.
