During the process of quick urbanization and transportation motorization, quite a lot of Chinese cities have emerged many problems such as irrational space extension and functional stuctual development, as a result, the traffic problem has highlighted. It's an important way to promote healthy and continunous development of urban social and economic activities through integrated plannning of urban land use and transportation system. Relative research achievements of urban land use and transportation planning at home and aboard were analyzied and summarized, in order to build transportation system that can develop sustainablely, promote its energy utility efficiency and decrease emission of harmful and greenhouse gas, the characteristic and development requirement of low carbon transportation were analyzed. Based on those, integrated optimization theory menthods of urban land use and passenger transportation structure were researched under the low carbon form.1. The relationship of urban passenger transportation structure and land use was discussed. The composition of urban passenger transportation structure and the charicteristics of traffic modals were analyzied, present transportation structure of main cities in China were summarized. The content and characteristic of land use, and its influence to the urban passenger transportation structure were also researched.2. The development process of low carbon transportation was reviewed, and the content, characteristic and development requirement of low carbon transportation were researched, and the requirement of urban transportation structure to land use was discussed as well. Based on those, the content, development goal, mechanism and main influence factors were elaborated.3. After the principle and process of the integrated optimization of urban low carbon passenger transportation structure and land use were determined, the city's laytout to be studied was discussed. As an index of urban passenger transportation demand and operation status of transportation system, the expression method of urban passenger transportation turnover was researched based on urban land use.Based on those, the goal function and constraints of the integrated optimization model were analyzied, and aim to solve the model, the SA-PSO mixed intelligent optimization algorithm was designed.4. Tonghua city of the Jilin province was taken as an example, the research result shows that the integrated optimization model could fit the requirement of integrated planning of land use and transportation well and achieves a low carbon development of passenger transportation structure, the model has good feasibility and applicability.
