The energy of motors saving is a systematic projec, through the development of trend of high efficient electric motor was presented, and a situation on the wide application of electric motors in national economy, and the high proportion of electromotors power consumption in total industry power consumption were presented. This paper introduces one of the key ways of improving efficiency on the induction motors with high voltage and provides some technical reference for the development of high-efficiency motor.Firstly, the origin, the developing course, leading research direction, basic principle and the application feature of the genetic algorithm are introduced in this paper. Besides, mathematic fundamental theories are introduced. Considering the special structure of the YKK series induction motor and special needs for the design, the paper introduces the niche genetic algorithm to the optimization of the motor design. Several respects are discussed such as the coding way of various request constraints set forth to improve optimum efficiency and find the best design scheme, for the forming structure of medium-sized high-voltage stator coils and the actual situation of three round relative fixed size, this article makes a corresponding improvements to the niche genetic algorithm.Finally, the dissertation lists the initial program of electromagnetic results and the motor optimization results. Compared with the initial program, the ultimate design results of the motors meet the technical specifications of the proposed efficiency motor. Furthermore, the size of motor has been reduced, which saves the effective materials of the motor. It prove the feasibility and advantages of niche genetic algorithm. besides, it verify the practical engineering value.
