Urban Area Space Ecological Design Study

The 20th century is the time that the serious damages on the ecological environment being brought on the earth, along with the development of the economy and the progress of the society. "Sustainable development" and "ecological design" have become a frontier problem under extensive attention in Chinese and foreign architecture and urban design.The studies on urban sustainable development and ecological design rely on how to introduce ecological principles and ecological strategies to the urban planning and design. Ecological urban space design,which is a complicated systematic engineering, includes the targets that are ecological and the coordinated development of urban and natural, restraint using and transformation of nature, to seek the most suitable urban space environment for human survival and development. The ecological urban space design treats the urban space environment as an organic whole system and it has become the essential ingredient of the contemporary ecological city and sustainable urban environment system.In this paper, the mainly discussing object is the urban space design in "area level". The content is widely and related to many subjects. The discussion is expected to summarize how to achieve the established ecological goals in urban area space design through effective design methods. Based on formal study and the individual experience, the article is in order to carry on a methodical and systematic summary about the impact factors and design methods that achieve the ecological target in urban area space design, and propose the appropriate methods of ecological design about urban area space. We try to explore the sustainable development and ecological design for the future city from the view of urban area space design study.This paper offers a brief overview of urban area space and ecological design firstly, and analyzes the many impact factors of ecological design of urban area space in detail. Then points out a few basic principles of urban space design which is made the ecology as targets and carries out specific analysis. Furthermore, in according to the impact factors, following the ecological design principles, then summarize the specific and proper design strategies and methods, while cite the examples of the corresponding depending on the different design methods. At last, it gives a prospect about the urban area space ecological design in the future in China.
