Developed technology requires high power quality. So the studies on problems of power quality have been greatly concerned. In recent years, to solve these problems a machine, multifunctional devices (Unified power quality controller, abbreviated UPQC) which can be integrated to compensate for a voltage, current, improving power quality have been proposed, and received wide attention and research in the field. The advantages of UPQC and the problems of power quality are expounded, in the basis of APF detecting method and combined with the compensation ideas of UPQC, the thesis deduces the detecting method of dq0 and fan-in vector and sliding-window iterative algorithm of DFT. Analysis and put forward the detecting method of UPQC considering voltage transient component, in addition the simulation results are given too. The control methods of UPQC, focusing on the inverter-controlled studies, parallel side uses timer control method, while the serial side uses Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation(SVPWM) method, and detailed analysis of these control algorithm was conducted. Simulation results given in the thesis verify the correctness of the detection method of voltage and current and the control strategy proposed in the thesis.
