In a globalized environment, Energy-saving and Pollution-reduction of textile dyeing and finishing industry task is urgent.Magnetic field treated water treatment method is an emerging technology in order to achieve certain engineering purposes by treating water through the magnetic field and cutting through magnetic field lines, as a result, a number of macroscopic properties of water, such as physical and chemical properties change. Because the magnetic technology has lots of advantages as easy to use, less investment, low energy consumption, pollution-free and the results are obvious, it is widely used in anti-descaling boilers, agricultural planting, concrete, beverage industry, medical, aquaculture and many other fields.The application of magnetic field treated water in dyeing and finishing started late, from 1980s, the former Soviet researchers first carried out research in this area, and have made some progress, but the accumulated empirical data at present is not enough to establish a strict theoretical system, in addition, influence of factors as parameters, process conditions is not yet clear, the application of magnetic field treated water in dyeing and finishing process still need further exploration.We assume that through using the magnetic field treated water in certain areas of dyeing and finishing applications to explore evidence that the magnetic field treated water is conducive to save dyes, auxiliaries and so on. Then we can save energy, reduce pollutions, find new possibilities clean ways to product.In this paper, first, magnetized treatment of distilled water is carried out by pumping it through a magnetic-field treating device. We explore treating conditions and the treatment effect, characterize effects of magnetic treatment of water in order to confirm the validity of magnetized treatment. Then magnetic field treated water is separately used in dyeing process and washing process of reactive dyes, acid dyes and direct dyes monitored by on-line monitoring equipment to get dye curves. After dyeing, the influences of magnetic field treated water to dyeing process, comparisons of the differences of dyeing curves dyed in magnetic field treated water and distilled water stain, solid-color ratio, K/S values, etc. are discussed, and at last some basic theory and the results of previous studies are used to explain the results and the reasons.Results show that with untreated distilled water as a reference, magnetization effect of water (treatment) is obvious, UV absorption spectrum intensity increases significantly. In the same treating conditions, many times of re-circulation can get a stronger effect of magnetic treatment, interval time of circulation has a significant effect to UV absorption intensity of magnetic field treated water. Magnetic field treated water has good stability during storage time of about 24 hours after treated. In addition, after magnetic treatment the pH value of water will have noticeable changes.Through comparing of experiments' results of dyeing curves and fixations , magnetic field treated water have obvious effect to reactive dyes, acid dyes and direct dyes in dyeing process, such as changes of dyeing rate, improvement of dyeing capacity and changes of K/S value, etc..Among fabrics dyed with reactive dyes, color of red fabric increases in the depth by dyeing in magnetic field treated water dyebath, color depth of yellow and navy blue, blue fabric is essentially the same. There is a very small difference of the final fixation between the same duestuff dissolved by Magnetic field treated water and distilled water, which was greatly improved dissolved by magnetic field treated water reported in previous studies. To washing of the dyed fabric, magnetic field treated water doesn't play an active role as described in previous reports, instead, washing capability of magnetic field treated water is even weaker.Magnetic field treated water can promote the dissolution of acid dyes, between dye liquors of same concentration ,, the maximum absorption value of dyes dissolved by magnetic field treated water is significantly higher than by distilled water. Magnetic field treated water has no effect on the swelling properties of wool, when wool is immersed separately by magnetic field treated water and distilled water, water-retention capacity of wool has no significant difference. Magnetic field treated water has significant effect to dyeing process of acid dyes, dyeing rate of dye liquor dissolved by magnetic field treated water is higher than by distilled water, but at the end both dyeing rate roughly the same.Magnetic field treated water has a positive effect to dyeing process of direct dyes dyeing cotton fabric. In the low and middle temperature dyeing of magnetic field treated water has little effect to dyeing process of direct dyes. In high temperature (90℃) , dyeing rate of magnetic field treated water stain is significantly higher than distilled water stain, these results provide evidence for the application of magnetic field treated water in dyeing crafts of direct dyes.The research results of this project support feasibility of applications of magnetic field treated water in the field of dyeing and finishing, but explorations show that there are still some unknown factors in industrial applications of magnetic field treated water in dyeing and finishing processes, much variation need to be explored. |
