The design theory, mathematical model and finite element analysis of radial tire mould are studied in-deeply. CAD system of radial tire mould based on UG NX5.0 and system of forming pattern automatically are developed which have significance for improving the efficiency and quality of radial tire mould design. The main research content and achievements are as follows:(1) The design theory, mathematical model and method of intensity examination of radial tire mould were put forward. Force analysis and intensity examination were carried out to some parts whose force are complex through ANSYS finite element software in order to further optimize the radial tire mould design;(2) The system database of radial tire mould was established based on Access. The classification and coding method were developed. This method enhanced the practicality of the system database;(3) The radial tire mould CAD system was developed based on UG NX. The CAD system's menu and dialog box were developed using the tools NXOpen. Alternant design of radial tire mould was realized using the three dimensional former programmer designs. The system has a friendly user interface and easy to operate. It can be accurate to achieve the design of radial tire mould;(4) Virtual assembly was achieved by UG NX. Assembly interference inspect was carried and exploded view was created. The geometry model as foundation set up the simulation of the sport in UG Scenario, to the whole accurate radial tire mould, move mould part make mechanical sport analysis. Have proved radial tire mould which was generatr by this CAD system has rational structure. It was proved that the system is credible;(5) Forming a tread pattern algorithm was proposed. The flat patterns were discreted into point's data by the algorithm according to user needs and were mapped on the tread. All adjacent points which belong to the same pattern line were connected into lines by NXOpen .Net API function. These lines and the tire axes were lofted into the ruled surfaces. The cross-lines were obtained between the ruled surfaces and tread. The tread pattern was generated. System of forming pattern automatically was developed. It was proved that the system can complete rapidly and accurately mapping pattern lines.
