Virtual assembly technology is a unit of virtual product development in technology, which has a very important role in virtual manufacturing and dynamic simulation. As a key of virtual assembly technology, it has been paid more attention to by experts in the actual application. But nowadays the research about Assembly Technoligy is based on the second development of a concrete platform provided by CAD, which esist many deficiencies between assembly model and information and process integration concerned CAD platform.What’s more, there exists great difficulty in designing and developing parameter of virtual assembly technology. So it’s of vital importance that developing assembly model information that can store and modify and developing assembly process information that can establish, edit and check. So is a simple parametric development method that can complete faster about virtual assembly system of parametric modeling.It is been built a visual virtual assembly system based on UGNX after intensive researches and discussions about virtual assembly technology. My thesis is introduced the research background of virtual assembly system so as to analyse its research meaning at first, which includes the main aspects as follows:a brief introduction about virtual assembly modeling, a plan for assembly order, and present development situation at home and abroad related to assembly. On that basis, my thesis is deeply researched the key technology for coming it into reality and it will change technology for statistics based on standard of STEP and build an assembly process information bank. The thesis is set the second development to UGNX by virtue of visual studio software and C#language so as to finish parametic modeling of assembly models, besides complete standard parts and nonstard parts of visuable modeling.Secondly, the thesis is taken a vise assembly as an example; it will give a parametic modeling to standard parts and nonstand parts respectively with the help of application of UG assembly and splitting method.It can find out vise’s assembly order and assemble.During the process of assembly, it is of great importance to have a interference detection to assembly machine.With the virtue of application about UG’s interference detection.In this way, it can get a interference report.With the analysis of the interference report,the interference entering in the parametic modeling can fix structure of assembly machine and deal with some problems in the process of assembly. Only in this way,can assembly designers can redesign,shorten product period and lower product cost according to the feedback from product assembly function. At the same time, during the process of designing component, it’s necessary to complete editing and modifying component model information.Next is to store assembly constraints and assembly order ans so onfrom the proceding to process data bank. On that basis,it’s to complete saaembling assemble model and process information.At last, there is a conclusion and a futher prospect on study of virtual assembly system.
