As a factual representation of mass culture, fashion show plays an important role in China. It is an activity of producing vogue and promoting consumption, having consciously captured the popular aesthetic taste enjoyed by the common people and adopted the pattern of garment market operation. This thesis is devoted to a description of the three development phases of Chinese fashion show in the context of mass culture, and an analysis of the fashion show as a special mass culture phenomenon. Constructed within a particular social framework and ideology in the development process of industrialized society, and with an open commercial purpose, fashion show is intended to meet the psychological needs of modern people. The uniqueness and individuality of Chinese fashion show in the context of mass culture lies in that it is a proper reflection of the mass culture as a composite of popular culture, communication culture, consumption culture, and commercial culture, and that it has directly affected people in discourse, life style and aesthetic patterns. It can be seen that fashion show has changed people's aesthetic pattern in many aspects like implication function, communication channel, and value system.
