A Study On The Development Of British Fashion Show

As an important constituent part of modern fashion industry, fashion show is closely related to fashion design, production and marketing, and therefore, affects the development of the whole fashion industry. Through visual representation, it conveys artistic conceptions and objectives of fashion design to the spectators directly and guides their aesthetic appreciation and consumption. A study on the evolution of fashion show can not only help us understand its function in the fashion industry, but also has certain directive significance for the advancement of today’s fashion industry.Based on a review of the origin and evolution of fashion show as well as its establishment and development in modern society, this paper attempted to summarize the development of British fashion show. Besides, it also analyzed the influence that such factors as political, economic, cultural and scientific factors had on fashion show as well as the influence of fashion show on the fashion industry and fashion media industry in Britain, aiming to grasp the overall development of British fashion show. Finally, some inspirations for China’s fashion show development were concluded on basis of former study. The enlightenments and suggestions were explored from three aspects:the part of relevant associations in fashion industry, participants in a fashion show and researchers in the field of fashion show, particularly, from the perspective of how would China’s fashion show promote the development of fashion industry.
