In recent years, accompanied by improvement of living standards and improve the living environment, people's requirements to the quality of life and style of life has gradually improved.At the same time, high-tech of today, complex and fast-paced life force people began to pursuit the simple, began to think connect with the minimalist.The conflict between High-tech and the aesthetic emotion, plain natural living and high rhythm of the work environment, the contradictions between these are a new topic which China's furniture division is facing with.Although Early minimalist furniture has many advantages and great epoch-making sense of innovation, but because it is internationalism style which promote has no regional, ethnic and historical, so it is mostly be used as testing product which want to display new materials, new technologies by Western.After a long period of contact, this kind of furniture made people have a boring, rigid and cold feeling, even it was also rising the anti-rationalism of post-modernist style in the design industry.Today, the re-resurgence of minimalist demand under the appearance of simplicity, China's furniture design integrate the cultural connotation of Chinese traditional aesthetics, as Mr.Wu Zuci in the book "industrial art design basis" said that, "We should absorb nutrition in ourself's economic and cultural soil, success the outstanding national traditional culture firmly, establish ourself's the furniture aesthetic which has regional character and the traditional culture, to guide our furniture design, in order to display ourself's Unique charm in the great tide of world culture."Minimalist furniture should be integrate the interesting appreciation of the beauty in Orient and the aesthetic taste in Western, it has both the charm of traditional Chinese aesthetics, but also has the simplicity characteristics of minimalist. It's real meaning is the Chinese localization of minimalist furniture which is the basis of the simple geometric forms, draw the shape elements and cultural symbols of traditional Chinese aesthetic, and use the high-tech equipment, integrate the use of new materials to create both has the times tincture and with the strong ethnic flavor characteristics, Also adapted to the modern industrial production requirements.Based on this phenomenon, at first, this thesis analyze and elaborate thinking of the traditional Chinese aesthetic of an in-depth, combine the appreciation of the beauty thinking of traditional Chinese aesthetics, and make it semantics and symbols, secondly, analyze ideological origins and formation development process of the minimalist furniture design, and through analyzed the minimalist designer's thinking, ideas and typical furniture design, summarized minimalist furniture design features and design elements.Finally, the author research the reasonable of theoretical analysis through the furniture design practice. The design works of practice is "Ge Ge Bu Ru-co-ordination in the campaign", entry the "Hua Yuan-xuan" Cup Furniture Design Competition and win the first prize.
