The text mainly evaluated the capability of new kinds diesel flow improver (for short DFI), and discussed the action mechanism of DFI, It was composed of the following parts:(l)Gas chromatography was used in the analysis of n-paraffin content of 0# diesel oils which were obtained from Dalian and Jinxi Petrochemistry Filiale. Through the compares of chromatograms and the results of adding DFI, it proved that the content and distribution of higher number n-paraffin was the great factor of influencing itself low temperature character and DFI using effect. (2)The content of n-paraffins in wax crystals was analyzed by Gas chromatography. From results we can see that constitutes of wax crystals were same. The wax was mostly composed of carbon number not less than 17.After adding the additives, the content of n-paraffins with higher carbon numbers in the crystallized wax was reduced evidently. And there was a well corresponding relation between the constitutes of n-paraffins and the effect of its depressing CFPP. (3) The wax crystals obtained from diesel oil with or without DFI at different low temperatures, dosages and composing mol. The changes of microstructures of wax crystals were studied by X-Ray diffraction technique. The results indicated that microstructures of wax crystals in diesel oil with DFI or without DFI were same but crystallinities of them were altered. (4) Experiment data showed that, good DFI should meet following terms that the carbon number of long alkyl matched equal carbon number of wax in diesel oil, especially higher carbon number; Crystal temperature of DFI in oil matched of wax; Polarity group with proper framework or surface active group should be right introduced into DFI. Our experiment results accorded crystal together theory and adsorption theory, and explained the action mechanism of DFI.
