Diesel flow improvers (DFI) can observably improve the low temperature flow properties of diesel fuels. The application of DFI is important for increasing the production of diesel fuel and improving the diesel fuel/gasoline ratio and increasing the economic benefit of finery. The current diesel flow improvers have poor sensitivity for high paraffin diesel oil. Our country mainly produce high paraffin diesel oil. But the current DFIs have poor sensitivity to it. So to exploit new type DFI which possess good sensitivity to it is very important.The objective of this paper mainly studys on the development and synthesis of new kinds of DFI . And it also discusses and studies the possible interactional mechanism between diesel oil and additive with a lot of experiment datas. We mainly accomplish hereinafter three aspacts of work:Firstly, we summarize the factors which affect the improvement effectiveness after adding DFI and bring forward methods and steps how to synthesize and filtrate and evaluate DFI in lab. On the basis of referring to large numbers of literatures,we discuss the factors which affect interactional effect between diesel oil and additive from intrinsic factor and external factor.And that intrinsic factor is the essential one. It includes the composition and property of diesel oil and the structure and character of DFI. Besides, the process of adding DFI also influences interactional effect between diesel oil and additive .Secondly, monomer and polymer are synthesized. First of all, alkyl methacrylate ester,which is basilic monomer for DFI molecule are synthesized. Because its homopolymer or its copolymer with styrene and maleic anhydride and and so on as DFI have good effect to diesel oil or crude oil. Then polymers as DFI are synthesized. Refering to a great many literatures and patents, considering the poison,economy, effection and so on, on the basic of possible action mechanism, several series of polymers are produced by using alkyl methacrylate ester, styrene, maleic anhydride, vinyl acetate, hexadecylamine, and octadecylamine as raw materials. The polymer structure and conversion is tested by IR spectroscopy.The third is testing part.Glass capillary gas chromatography is used in the analysis of n-paraffin distribution of the diesel. Cold filter plugging point (CFPP) of diesel oil is tested by national standard. We contrast the fore-and-aft character of the diesel oil by all test datas, deduce and summarize the possible action mechanism. Then on the basis of this, we will synthesize new kinds of DFI for some diesel oil. It is proved by experiment that the CFPP of the 0# high paraffin diesel oil, refined from Daqing crude oil and produced by Dalian Petrifaction is lowered by 3~5℃.
