Along with the quick development of reverse engineering, the technology of obtaining 3D part by lots of detecting data points acquires the substantial progress, but as the other branch of it, reverse engineering based on NC program is developed slowly. Especially, now the technology of NC is developed quickly and it combines with the CAD/CAM software more and more. Now in fact, the acquirement to obtain 3D part by NC program is increasingly.It is different between the reverse engineering based on NC code and the others (e. g. reverse engineering based on data points). It can provide a little information about reverse engineering. To get useful information, we have to identify and analyze them by especial arithmetic. Moreover, to get 3D part, we need some information inputted by user about manufacture.The thesis has introduced a method to create a part based on NC program, which is the so-called "Virtual Cutting". It creates 3D part in virtual manufacture environment of UG. The project is to adopt UG as the developing platform and choose VC++ MFC and UG OPEN/API as the developing instruments. The part within the defined accuracy is created by pre-processing, middle-processing, and post-processing. At the same time, it can be compatible with more types of machines by providing the user with a interface to define user's machine codes, which can expand the system's ability to identify and dispose the NC code.The reverse model depended on Parasolid in UG can be re-edited and analyzed by other CAD/CAM software (e. g. UG, Pro/E, etc.). With the character due to multiprocess with more types of software, it is convenient for the users to obtain the model through NC code. The system can be competent for reverse engineering based on NC program through the analyses and tests.
