Operations such as cutting, digging, drilling, shaving and shoving are often performed while dealing with various kinds of materials like soil or metal by human beings. It is always paid more attention by human beings for how to optimize the geometric shape of cutting tools to reduce the adhesion against operated materials and reduce the operating resistance, thus enhancing operating efficiency and the useful time of cutting tools and decreasing the cost of operations. The research shows that teeth, claw and animal surface etc. of a lot of animals obtain perfect geometric shape and mechanical property after long evolutionary process. They are chosen as bionic research object to optimize the geometric shape and mechanical property of cutting tools.The paper based on the research of the incisor teeth of beaver. The point cloud of the incisor teeth was obtained by Reverse Engineering technology,and the curved surface of the incisor teeth was created by RE software. The character of the curved surface was analyzed by the way of numerical analysis to find some available information to design of cutting tool. The finite element analysis of the model was taken in the software of CATIA to establish the feasibility of bionic application.Design method of bionic cutting tools that offer reference for subsequent research work was given at the end.
